Now it is time to sleep. I will finish this later, but can I just say, yikes it is probably going to retread old ground, but I do not care. I have a type of story I like writing, and no one can take that away from me.

I love love love this song, for the record, and I will never be able to capture how amazing it is.

Mostly, though, this is because I wanted to write a story I could show my family, and This Is Not The End is a little too close to home. Also I need to revise it. AGH no time to do anything.

I read The Hunger Games today, and was mildly horrified to discover that (a) I write like Suzanne Collins, and (b) it is an insanely obtrusive style, and I'm not even as good as she is. Coming on the heels of rereading The Eleventh Hour (Time War Remix) and discovering that my writing is incredibly dry and confusing at times. Of course, it's good to be humbled, but anyway, the point of this exercise - aside from making me not feel useless - was to try to balance out my [[dialogue][movement description][dialogue][thought process][dialogue][dialogue]][repeat sequence ad nauseum] formula with some ... well ... variety.

I have a feeling that my attempts to write a multiethnic, mixed-class Twelve Apostles is going to backfire horribly.

I've been story-jumping rather badly lately, so I decided 'screw this, tonight I am abandoning all the usual characters and writing the first thing that comes into my head when I listen to music, and that is that.' Then I was in the mood for Death Cab For Cutie. Warning for varying degrees of wish-fulfillment and projecting my own experiences onto nameless characters.

I want to write a short one-shot story for Valentine’s Day. I think it might consist of Willow, Riley, Electra, and Vance on a group date in which no one is really actually dating anyone else. (My original idea was to have Violet, my favorite genderfluid eldritch abomination, take Tsuya and Nyali on a mission to murder Cupid because Violet's human Kai is behaving weirdly around this one girl in his class. That tanked pretty quickly because things like that amuse me to imagine, but don't work out so well on paper for me. Gotta work on that.)

relationships. i haven't touched these guys in ages, i'm so sorry friends )

These four are my first 'real' characters, the ones who rose up off the page and started having complicated, flawed existences. All except for Vance. Vance was the character who had a bipolar-type disorder before I knew what bipolar was. And so for a few years his personality was nothing but bipolar. He's better now. But they kept me company when I was in the hellish stage of my life that was freshman year of high school.
