kasihya: autopsied corpse of Will Graham from NBC's Hannibal (Default)

You first lay eyes on John Hamish Watson when He has him abducted, and you get to help wire him up before he regains consciousness. You try not to giggle along with your employer, because he does so like being the insane one, but it’s funny, so you’re secretly relieved when he gives you permission for a short chuckle before you take your place on the second floor of the swimming pool. There’s you, and oh yeah, there’s a couple of other snipers up here too, but it doesn’t matter because you’re the one, the first one the good guys down below see when He is done setting the Other One up for the shock of a lifetime.

True, you do get a little pang of jealousy when the Other One sees him, because the soft horror in his voice is genuine, and wrapped up in more genuine emotion than just ‘Oh shit I’ve been betrayed’. You know you’d never get that reaction if they played the same trick in reverse; not the least because He would see through it at once, but also because He’d probably kill you himself, rather than show his hand.

And then the man on whom you’ve put the jacket throws himself at your employer, and if it wouldn’t give away your position, you’d have whistled. That’s loyalty, that is. You’d do the same thing in this situation, and that is the moment when you feel that this man, he is a kindred spirit. Which doesn’t mean that you won’t kill him anyway, because, well, that’d just be silly. No stranger – no friend, even – no one will ever come between you and Him. Even if He doesn’t know it yet.

I wrote this in my Anthropology class, and I didn't particularly want anyone to know that I was writing fanfiction, given that the seats are crammed very close together, so I used the second person and no names. Stopping this before it turns into something long that would convince me to not read the second half of my Spanish Lit assignment, which would be a Bad Idea.

(Idea behind this being that Moran is the guy behind all of the red points of light in the first season, and the same guy who was supposed to shoot John. Given his non-role in The Reichenbach Fall, I re-imagined him as First Henchman, who has an unhealthy obsession/fascination with his employer, wanting to be the Watson to his Holmes, but ending up being more like the Wormtail to his Voldemort.)
