kasihya: autopsied corpse of Will Graham from NBC's Hannibal (Default)

Okay, so this might actually become a thing. (edit: I discovered myself researching Atahualpa's personal life and scripting dialogue for the opening scene, this is going to happen at some point.) Eleven is travelling with Amy and Rory and he gets a call for help via some strange and new method on board the TARDIS. They go to investigate, obviously, because that's what they do. They land the TARDIS, and bam! They're in the middle of a massacre of Incans by several hundred Spaniards. And Atahualpa's like 'what is this sorcery SAVE ME!' so Amy and Rory grab him and drag him on board, and meanwhile the Doctor is telling them to stop, wait, etc. etc., this is bad, this is a fixed point. But obviously they don't listen until after the door is shut, and then away they go!

But then that'd probably be the end of it, and they'd have to put him back in order to be captured and then killed, and of course the Doctor being the Doctor, he knows that Atahualpa is going to die and he tries to explain this to him … and Atahualpa, being an Incan and a religious person from a long, long time ago, is very confused and disoriented and the last white people he met tried to kill him, and these ones have weird accents to boot. So first of all, it takes a while, because Atahualpa is going to be confused and terrified and he is not going back to the Spaniards. At least the Doctor and his companions aren't armed, right?

And then once he does have as much of an understanding of what's going on as his worldview will permit, he refuses to go back and be killed. And one of them suggests using a ganger, and then taking him with them. (It worked for the Doctor, after all.) This might be slightly tricky, because I am sure that neither Amy nor Rory have a positive view of the gangers after the way that they were used against them. But I have a feeling that Rory would be the one to suggest it, after all, and Amy will argue, and then the Doctor will say, okay, brilliant, let's go get Atahualpa a ganger, and then what? Then what?

Well, then they'll take him with them, of course. I fail to see how this is a problem. And they're all for 'yes, let's just drop you off in a remote part of your empire and you can live as a plebian, or die as an emperor. And Atahualpa is quick to point out that nope, his empire is so damn bureaucratic that there is no way that's going to fly. The Doctor is like 'fine, then we will put you in the past before everything was mandated, I will use my psychic paper to confuse people into accepting you and Atahualpa points out, nope they have no paper and no writing system unless the psychic paper turns into a psychic khipu.

So anyway, they're trying to figure this out, and then oof, bump, crash, TARDIS has landed and they are nowhere near anything resembling gangers. ADVENTURE BEGINS!
Must not begin this until after I've finished Birthplaces. Must not begin this until after I've finished Birthplaces.

This Harry Potter video gives me all the feelings and makes me want to read this fanfic every time. And I keep listening to it.
