oh my god that came up fast
I'm workshopping my short story next Thursday! Great!
... I've only written a page and a half so far.
So I'm thinking that I might have to save this one. It would take too long to write it, I don't think I would be able to write it to my satisfaction, and I really don't want a panic attack at this point in the semester. I have two options now:
1. I could write a shorter story about when my King Arthur triad first meet, which would be the conversation when Matt takes Simon and Jaime to the Ulster County Fair, but he gets home late, so Jaime and Simon are sitting around at his house, awkwardly bonding, and Jaime has just started maybe-dating Matt and Simon is anxious about that. That would mean that my second story would be about something completely different, and I would write the King Arthur story on my own time.
2. I could write a completely different story, and save the King Arthur one for after this, when I'll have a bit more advance notice. The problem with this is that I don't know what else I want to write. It needs to be at least ten pages long, which is absolutely no problem for me, but if that's the case, then I need to write it all by Thursday.
I'm not sure. I don't know I don't know. I really, desperately want to write a triad story, but I also really want to write something with elements of the weird in it. Although! If I do the first option, that's a completely non-paranormal story, so I could get away with more supernatural goings-on in the second. Or even just straight-up magical. Possibilities!
I really do need to write this. Even though a large part of my brain is screaming at me to submit another Supernatural genderswap. I feel like that would go over in the manner of a lead balloon.
This weekend, I have a list of things I need to accomplish for school:
1. Read Part 1 of North and South
2. Write story
3. Read second chapter of Anthropology textbook
4. Read first fifteen pages of La fuerza de la sangre and answer questions
5. Whatever Japanese homework is assigned tomorrow
Which would not be bad! A lot of reading, but doable, but I've got seven hours of train-riding to do, and a party to go to that no, I can't skip, because it's my parents' fiftieth birthday party and I'm taking the train three and a half hours both ways to get there. I focus very badly on the train. About the only thing I can concentrate on are audiobooks and story-oriented books. Neither North and South nor La fuerza de la sangre are what you would call fast-paced thrillers.
Oh well. I'll manage. Time to write!
